Summer Schedule

posted 1 Jun 2012 13:50 by Anne Hutchinson   [ updated 1 Jun 2012 13:51 ]

We have almost completed a very successful Spring Session and have met many new walkers.
Summer is a busy time for most people and many have holiday plans, so we have decided to reduce the number of walks per week to three for the six week summer session.
There will be classes on Tuesday evenings, as well as Wednesday and Friday mornings.
The morning classes will begin a half hour earlier at 9 a.m. in an effort to beat the heat that is expected this summer.
The summer session will begin on Tuesday June 19th and will end on Wednesday July 25th.
There will not be any classes scheduled in August, but the Fall Session will begin the week of September 10th.

Hope to see you this summer!

MS Walk - Come walk with us!

posted 8 Apr 2012 11:11 by Ryan Young

Nepean Nordic Walk has registered a team to participate in the Multiple Sclerosis walk on Sunday April 29th 2012.  This will be a fun walk to raise awareness and funds to help end MS.  There is no registration fee and no requirement to collect pledges!  Just bring your poles (or use a pair of mine) and come join us.  The walk begins at 10 a.m at Tunney's Pasture and continues along the Ottawa River Parkway.  You can walk 2.5 km, 5 km, or 7 km - your choice.  You can even change your mind mid-walk!  Of course donations to MS are encouraged, but not mandatory.  If you decide to gather pledges, so much the better!

Click on "join a team" and search for Nepean Nordic Walk.  Once again - no monetary committment is required!

Feel free to contact me to answer any questions.  If you need to use my poles, let me know in advance to make sure I have enough!  Hope to see you April 29th!
